Product Overview

Enameled copper-clad aluminum wire uses a metallurgically bonded copper-clad aluminium conductor, combining the solderability and surface conductivity of copper with the weight advantage of an aluminium core. The result is a magnet wire that is significantly lighter and lower in cost than solid copper while remaining directly solderable on standard production lines.

Supplied from 0.10 to 2.00 mm across thermal classes 130 to 220, CCA wire is widely adopted in motors, electromagnetic coils and automotive applications where weight reduction and cost control are both priorities.

Key Advantages

  • Dual manufacturing hubs in Changzhou and Foshan, China, covering both fine-gauge and heavy-gauge production.
  • Full production range from 0.04 mm to 2.50 mm, supporting everything from micro-motors to large power equipment.
  • Monthly output of approximately 3,000 tons, with stable capacity for repeat and high-volume programmes.
  • ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified quality and environmental management systems.
  • RoHS and REACH compliant insulation systems for European and North American markets.
  • Wire manufactured in accordance with IEC, NEMA, GB and JIS international standards.
  • Copper-clad surface keeps the wire directly solderable on existing lines.
  • Conductor weight and material cost substantially below solid copper.
  • Metallurgically bonded copper layer for stable electrical performance over time.

Product Features

  • Good electrical conductivity with a stable copper-clad surface.
  • Direct soldering performance without special termination processes.
  • High breakdown voltage and excellent mechanical properties.
  • Good wear resistance and adhesion of the enamel film.
  • Consistent, repeatable quality batch to batch.
  • Supplied in natural colour or in customer-specified colours.

Typical Applications

  • Motor windings and general rotating machines.
  • Electromagnetic coils, solenoids and relays.
  • Automotive motors and auxiliary actuators.
  • Sealed motors operating at elevated temperature.
  • Modern instruments, welding machines and deflecting coils.
  • Aerospace and weight-sensitive equipment.

Enamel Type Reference

The enamel designations below are the international equivalents of the Chinese GB codes. All five enamel systems are available on copper, aluminium and copper-clad aluminium conductors, and can be combined with the insulation grades and thermal classes shown on this page.

GB CodeInternational CodeEnamel TypeThermal Class / Feature
QAUEWPolyurethane Enameled WireDirect solderable; 130 / 155 / 180 °C
QZPEWPolyester Enameled Wire130 / 155 °C
QZYEIWPolyesterimide Enameled Wire180 °C
QXYAIWPolyamide-Imide Enameled Wire200 / 220 / 240 °C

Overseas customers normally work with the international codes (UEW, PEW, EIW, AIW). When specifying a grade, please state the international code together with the required thermal class, for example UEW 155 °C or EI/AIW 200 °C.

FAQ

Q
Is CCA wire solderable like copper wire?
Yes. Because the outer layer is metallurgically bonded copper, CCA wire can be soldered using standard processes. This is the key advantage over plain aluminium wire, which requires specialised termination.
Q
What copper volume ratio should I specify?
The most common ratios are 10% and 15% copper by volume. Higher copper ratios improve conductivity and solderability at a higher cost. Our engineers will help you select the ratio that matches your electrical and cost targets.
Q
Can you produce custom diameters, colours and thermal classes?
Yes. As a manufacturer operating two production bases, we can customise conductor diameter, enamel build, colour and thermal class to match your drawing or reference sample. Send us your specification and we will confirm feasibility and tooling lead time.
Q
Do you provide samples for evaluation?
Yes. Standard specifications can be supplied as free samples for qualification testing; freight is normally arranged on a collect basis. Customised specifications may require a small sample charge, which is credited against your first bulk order.
Q
What is the typical lead time?
Standard specifications are typically dispatched within 7 to 15 working days after order confirmation. Lead time for customised or high-volume orders is confirmed at the quotation stage.
Q
How is the wire packed for export?
Wire is wound on plastic or plywood spools, individually wrapped to prevent moisture and mechanical damage, then packed in carton boxes on pallets or in plywood cases. Packing is suitable for both sea and air freight, and customised spool sizes and pallet configurations are available.
Q
What documentation is supplied with each shipment?
Each shipment is accompanied by a packing list, commercial invoice and certificate of origin where applicable. Inspection and test reports covering conductor diameter, enamel thickness, elongation, flexibility and breakdown voltage can be provided on request.
